Enforced disappearances affect thousands of people around the world. In the face of the lack of truth, justice and reparation, countless women have taken the lead in searching for their disappeared loved ones. By doing so, they are playing a critical role as human rights defenders and peacebuilders. 

From 6 to 10 March 2027, Barcelona will host the International Meeting of Women Searchers, an initiative led by ICIP in partnership with a wide range of organizations and institutions. It will provide a space to share experiences, strengthen support networks, foster international alliances and develop collective responses to the challenge of enforced disappearances.

The meeting is open to women searchers from around the world. It will also bring together representatives of international organisations, experts, and individuals who accompany search processes and efforts to combat enforced disappearances.
