Pere Ortega. La societat noviolenta: converses amb Pepe Beunza. Barcelona: Institut Català Internacional per la Pau; Icària, 2012.
La societat noviolenta. Converses amb Pepe Beunza is based on a dialog between Pere Ortega, a researcher on peace and disarmament issues, and Pepe Beunza, first conscientious objector to oppose compulsory military service for ideological reasons, in 1971.
The book allows for two parallel readings: one about the personal history of Pepe Beunza, illustrating conscientious objection, a little-known part of the fight against the Franco dictatorship, and another about the political concept of nonviolence, unheard of in the 70s but widely accepted today by a significant part of society, as the 15M movement has demonstrated.
