
Professor of International Relations and Arab Politics
She is an Associate Professor of International Relations at Blanquerna, Ramon Llull University, and the Barcelona Institute for International Studies (IBEI). She was the scientific coordinator of the H2020 CONNEKT research project, which explores the factors contributing to violent extremism among youth in the MENA region and the Balkans.
Until August 2022, she led the Arab and Mediterranean World area at the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed), where she also served as editor-in-chief of the journal afkar/ideas. From 2017 to 2021, she co-directed the Observatory of Islamophobia in the Media, and from 2021 to 2022, she scientifically coordinated the MAGIC project on gender Islamophobia. She is a member of the Council at the International Institute for Nonviolent Action (NOVACT). She holds a Translation and Interpretation degree and is pursuing a doctorate in International Relations at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). She is also the editor of the book Islamisme(s): Islam and Politics in a Global World (Ed. Base and Fundació Flama, 2021).
